Chris Banke is a passionate dog trainer. He started training as a teenager with a doberman named “Dana” as his first student. After discovering his love for training, he found the Algemeiner Schutzhund Club at the age of 15. The club is where he met Margarete Iaquinto. Margarete is responsible for creating Chris Banke’s passion for more breed specific training, the training of the German Shepherd Dog. She also was the breeder that bred his first German Shepherd Dog named, “Chief.” Chief was titled in Schutzhund.

After honing in on his skills, Chris Banke was soon excelling in helper work and by 18 years of age, he was a helper in several Schutzhund trials. During his time helping, he met a trainer named Smitty who was one of the top ten trainers in the United States and Smitty helped him sharpen his training skills even more.

After having some success in the training world and having the opportunity to train under some of the most respected dog trainers in the country, Chris Banke founded his own dog training business titled, “Chris Banke Protection Dog Trainer” at the age of 19. He trained multiple dogs to IPO/Schutzhund III and also was coaching and doing helper work for other competitive handlers. Chris then went on to start his own breeding kennel named “vom maechtigen Turm.” Several of the dogs he bred would go on to compete in Schutzhund IPO on regional and national levels. Many of the dogs he has bred have also gone on to work in law enforcement.
